Thrills at inter-denominational show

Twenty-two Sunday School groups thrilled a large audience which included the First Lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills at the third edition of the Annual Inter-denominational Choreography show organised for churches.
The competition which took place at the Christ the King Hall saw 22 churches within the Greater Accra Region compete for the ultimate prize.
All the performances from the churches were received with cheers and applause as all the contestants performed various local and foreign gospel songs. The song most groups used was the famous “ Wala Abolo or Hele Banjo” by Soul Winners, which moved the audience to dance heartly.
The event which was dubbed “ Save the last for Jesus”, was organised by Youth Link Ghana, a non-profit human development organisation was to raise about GH¢ 2,000 to help renovate, the Children’s Ward of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The First Lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills who was the guest of honour urged the youth to channel their energies into positive activities that would make them healthy and focused in life.
She expressed concern about recent publications about some youth who were engage in Internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Sakawa” and advised them to use the Internet wisely.
St Theresa’s Catholic Church won the first prize of GH¢ 200, a trophy, cartons of soft drinks and a certificate of participation. They were followed by St Kizito Catholic Church had GH¢ 100, cartons of muscatella drink and a certificate of participation. The third prize went to Providence Baptist Church who also received GH¢ 100, cartons of muscatella drink and a certificate of participation.
