Incredible GH¢ 135,316.30 spent on Tea!!!!
Incredible, is the least that could be said about the spending of the transitional team. The transitional team which was made up of teams from the new government and the old government was to investigate and inquire information and documents from the past government and how the economy had been managed.
The team which was said to have consisted of 150 members do a national duty blew GH¢135 on refreshment which include drinking tea and eating banku (local dish).
The amazing fact which was "sung" by the Finance and Economic Planing Minister, Dr Kwabena Duffour, to Parliament yesterday was quite worrying for me as an ordinary citizen of this broke country called Ghana.
How could the country use millions of cedis on the transition team
On the defense, the Deputy Information Minister, Okudzato Ablakwa speaking on Joy Fm in an interview said the transition did the right thing by lashing the amount they were to receive by 20 per cent which meant that the former government would have taken more than what they had.
In all, GH¢ 361,924 was blown by government with tax payers money for two-and- a half month. Earlier, the government had made all of us aware that the country was broke and therefore all should tighten their belt.
This jolly meals and spending by our politicians indeed in my opinion is an eye opening to all right thinking Ghanaians. It is simple, they are all the same.
This is what our politicians seems to be telling our people and sooner or later their dented image will reach a stage of no recovery. Indeed GH¢ 361,924 could be use for building toilet for school children especially when a research has stated that 50 per cent of school going children in the country don't have access to toilet facilities.
Indeed, the transition team halt to be paid for their work but such an about is just too much for this country. No wonder most people think of politicians as "thieves".
President Mills need to do something about this issue and waste of money. Incredible indeed!!!!!!.
