UNDATEABLE REVIEW S01E01: WHY SOME MEN DON’T GET LAID!
When I read the tweet from NBC on
my timeline of the premier of undateable I was excited because the title tells
the show would be great and funny, plus most of the series I follow are all on
break even game of thrones. So I booked the date for the premier and the
weekend to watch the first two episode of the show.
The opening of the first scene of
the first episode saw Danny Beeman (Chris D’Elia) try to talk his friend who
seem to be making progress in his relationship by getting married from moving
out. His sister Leslie Beeman played by (Bianca Kajlich) stands in the room
watch on as Danny try to prevent the eminent. Danny character is that of a guy
who has been mentored very well on how to get women using your looks and
probably a few catchy lines. According to him he enjoys his life as it is and
not ready to commit himself in a relationship. Well why not when you have good
looks you could hang around for sometimes isn’t it and his surname is quiet funny
“Beeman” because he can smell the nectar in the ladies from afar? Danny refers to married friends as buried and
well there is some truth in there after all one-ginal disease.
Danny’s friend moves out and finds
a new one. He is Justin Kearney (Brent Morin) who can’t get women or find a
date. Awkward huh? A guy owns a bar and yet can’t even find one depressed girl
from the bar to date? Anyway, Danny tries to mentor Justin the fine lines of
picking up women and suggested suggest they and Justin’s friends – Burski (Rick
Glassman), Shelly not Sheldon (Ron Funches) and Brett (David Rynn) go out to a
wine-tasting party that Leslie is hosting.
Danny make his new buds try their
luck to monitor how they fair with women which back fired when Justin brags the
next day about sleeping with a woman from the party, and it turns out to be
Leslie, Danny’s sister. Danny later learns from his sister that they actually
did not have sex but shared a special moment in bed thanks Justin being Justin.
THE BUD SPOILER
Although the title of the show is
classy and catchy at the same time looking at the fact that thanks to free porn
online, social media, video games and lots of TV series some ladies and guys
find it difficult entering into committed relationship or even get lucky going
out with a women. Tough times huh? Go out and you will miss game of thrones,
scandal, big bang theory, originals, blacklist which are shown different times
and on different days in the week.
However, this sitcom in my opinion
would not survive two seasons because it will get though with developing each
character. Example Justin’s friend you may think are nerds but in fact are not
nerds but a bunch of guys who are not cool to be around and have nothing special about
their personal life that viewers will be interested in. If you compare this
group to chuck Lorre’s big bang theory nerds these nerds from undateable would
be slaughtered by one commit from Dr. Sheldon Copper.
The name of the bar Justin own is
“the black eye” that is catchy and smart but lmao. I go to a bar to relax and
have a bottle or two not to get a black eye from a bar fight. And it would be
cool if we have to see more guys in the bar having drinks like the setting of
“mixology” (mixology is a nice series I recommend).
